Great Commission
Ministries & New
Life Church
The vision:
- Turn students at the University of Michigan into fully
devoted followers of Christ
- Train students to share the gospel and help them mature
in their faith.
- Share their faith with others
and follow Christ for the rest of their lives, not
just during their college years.
Since most University of Michigan students graduate and
leave Ann Arbor to start their careers all over the
globe, they believe their vision to reach students at U
of M will have an impact for Christ all over the world.
Their intent is to fulfill the following
Six God-sized
Faith Projects that Great Commission Ministries and New
Life Church have set forth:
- 2000 students in large-group attendance -
Large-group attendance includes worship services, as
well as dorm and campus-wide events. The aim is 10% of
the undergrad student population which is roughly 2400
undergraduates
-
1000 students in small groups - To make disciples of
those who attend New Life - 1000 students in
life-changing small groups.
-
210 professions of faith per year - To see people
saved daily like they did in Acts 2:46-47. 210
would be a student saved every day over two 15-week
semesters.
-
50 full-time workers - To continue recruiting
full-time workers with a goal of having 5-10 new
recruits every year remain in Ann Arbor for training and
future church-planting
-
Raise $3.3 million - To allow for the completion and
endowment of the campus ministry center.
-
Develop a world-class staff-training program -
Together with GCM, to develop a world-class
staff-training program that will equip staff for a
lifetime of service to Christ and success in whatever
ministry they pursue.
Advent provides prayer & financial support.
