Ten
years ago, God delivered a vision to the leadership of Advent; to be a
lighthouse, shining the light of His love throughout the world.
The call was answered as Biblically based teaching and preaching reached
an ever growing number of people.
As
our faith was rewarded in growing numbers, a full-time Assistant Rector
was appointed for the first time in Advent's history in 1999. In
2000, we again heard God's calling, calling us to increase our role in
the wider church, to raise up new leadership and begin the process that
has led us to the completion of our capital renovation and expansion
project.
Though
we already raised one million dollars in the first campaign, we now must
pay-off the remaining $1.4 million dollars that financed our
initiative to Share the Light of God's Love. At the
same time, we need to continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ
and Power-Up God's light! Our new structure facilitates our
mission; ample rooms for Christian Education of all ages, enhanced
accessibility for continued worship and fellowship, and an improved
nursery and appealing toddler rooms. Now we must finish the job
and eliminate the accrued debt, insuring our ability to continually
focus on reaching others with our "lighthouse" in the name of
our Lord, Jesus Christ. Let's Power
it Up!
Power
It Up! is a three-year campaign to eliminate the remaining debt.
Help us continue to spread God's Glory by powering up the light of God's
love through our continuing Education and Healing
ministries.
