This ten week program explores the origin and meaning of one of our central sacraments, Holy Communion.

In ways appropriate to second grade minds and hearts, we will discover how God feeds the deepest hunger of our souls with bread and wine; with the body and blood of Christ as witness of His body and blood.

The course helps to prepare our youngsters for a more meaningful participation in the Eucharist, and in some cases for First Communion. 

We celebrate with the youngsters at a special Early Communion Service in November.  Parents, family and parishioners all recognize the children's efforts and good steps with Christ.

Requirements

• Sessions held during Sunday School
• Must be at 2nd grade level or above
• Must attend 9 out of 11 Sundays.
• Mandatory attendance of the following dates; Moses/Plagues/Passover, Last Supper/Sacrifice/Movie, The Eucharist/Church Tour.
• Program runs from 9/15 - 11/24 in the 2nd/3rd grade class.
• Note:  All children registered for this grade level will participate in these sessions, however only those wishing to participate in the celebration service are held to the requirements above.  Please inform the teacher of your wishes.
