Workshop Rotation is Here!
New to Advent beginning with
the 2004/05 year is the implementation of the Workshop
Rotation Model for our Sunday school curriculum
program. An innovation program, this model
enhances the learning opportunities of our students
by enforcing a single lesson of the Bible in a four
week incremental program. This program utilizes
all of the favorites children thrive participating
each week in; Art, Drama, Cooking, Storytelling,
Games, Music and Audio Visual and Puppetry.
If you are not familiar with
this program, Workshop Rotation works under the
same principles of the Vacation Bible School by
teaching the children the same story in multiple
formats that are fun and entertaining while being
educational! Instead of going to four sessions
in a day, they go to one session each week for a
four week rotation. This program allows for
enhanced learning opportunities by placing children
"in the moment" of the story they are learning through
plays, craft projects, movies, puppet shows and
songs. Every week of Sunday School is a new
adventure!
Our goal with this program
is to promote the Bible teachings through age appropriate
activities that are engaging and exciting to our
little learners. We also provide many ministry
opportunities within the program, allowing teens
and parents, grandparents and neighbors to come
together in a variety of areas to help teach our
young ones the word of God and the love of Jesus.
